resolved

hi every 1 i downloaded a movie clip on frostwire p2p but avast kicked in and blocked it trojan iot said i didnt open the file as avast wanrned me before i did. but the file has gone into the chest now do i delete the chest. i have run a scan after i had that warning and it was all clear but i wasent sure do i delete the chest as well as i have heared u can leave files in there but id rather delete it safe side.

Generally I would say:
There is no rush to delete anything from the chest, a protected area where it can do no harm. Anything that you send to the chest you should leave there for a few weeks. If after that time you have suffered no adverse effects from moving these to the chest, scan them again (inside the chest) and if they are still detected as viruses, delete them.

However in this case an alert in an unknown P2P download I would get rid of it as you aren’t really touching any critical file from your system, but a downloaded clip.

thx david all done now removed it scanned again all clear thx again

You’re welcome.

When changing the topic to resolved, the idea is to leave the original title and add {resolved] to the title, not replace it (as in the modification of the title of this post). That way people looking afterwards will see what the problem was and that it has been resolved.

thx david 4 that i see what u mean now and sorry 4 any confusion had to get this avast sorted out but getting there now though.
