It appears my internet connection is not working after repairing Avast Internet Security. How could this be resolved for Windows Vista?

Is it set tom Private ???

No. The internet connection is set to public.

I have presently limited to no connectivity.

Set it to Private if this is your home or another secure connection.
That should cure your problem.
