OK. I need to restrict access to a directory…
I am running avast 4.7 and in the standard shield window, I click on the "Customize button.
In the Resident Task Settings, I click on the Advanced tab.
I see the dialog box that shows a bunch of locations with wildcards set for restricting scanning.
I added the location I want to not be scanned
I have added:
d:\directoryname*.*
d:\directoryname*.exe
d:\directoryname\filename.exe
d:\directoryname*
Yet the scanner insists on scanning the d:\directoryname directory!
It tags a file as a virus (when in fact, it is not…it’s a Cell phone programming utility…) So when it scans, it stops on this file and never continues scanning (I have the scanning screensaver set as my scanner)
So. My question is, how do I tell this thing to NOT scan ANY file in the d:\directoryname directory?
Obviously, the above methods I list do NOT work!
