right click option

i have ie & ff set to always run sandboxed.when i right click either of those theres an option to run or always run outside of sandbox.my question is is there a way(option)to not have them options show when i right click?thanks

I don’t think so…

ok thanks tech,hopefully my kids dont right click run unsandboxed and start downloading everything.maybe someday pk will put this in as an option.

not yet, but I’ll add that option into avast INI file… thanks. I’ll let you know about parameters.

Starting with build 507, you can customize the sandboxed items shown on the context menu.

Edit avast5.ini file, add the following line to the [UserInterface] section:
ShellExtensionSandbox=0

where: 0 = hide, 1 = show always, 2 = show only for admin users

delete

where is the ini file?i have no idea?

Win7 systems: “c:\ProgramData\Alwil Software\Avast5\avast5.ini”
otherwise in "\Documents and settings"

when i modify the ini file and try to save and replace it says access denied?

disable self-defense module first, and if that’s not enough (and that’s probably not enough) turn off avast services temporarily (in computer management). Restart services when you’re done.

You have to use Notepad as the self-defence module only allows read access to this file using another text editor other than notepad.

still says access denied
i disabled self defense-shutdown avast services and the ini file i believe is in notepad i just add that line to it in user interface section?am i doin it right?
im using win 7 64
ais

that’s impossible, if you disabled avast services you can’t get an access denied. Do you have any shield still running?

ps: services must be disabled there >>> screenshot

Depends on what user account you are logged on as, limited user I guess would get access denied, but if you are able to disable the avast service presumably you have admin privileges.

im logged in admin account and i disabled avst services through control panel-admin tools-services and its not impossible because its doing it?

Only because before doing that you disabled the self-defence module or you wouldn’t have been able to disable the service. So why you can’t modify avast5.ini using notepad is very strange.

You say you believe you opened it in notepad, see image, this is opened in notepad, so does yours have Notepad in the title bar ?

If not you aren’t using notepad, try right clicking on avast5.ini and select Open with and select notepad from the list.

davidr mine says same thing=notepad.
i went into safemode and was able to enter that line and add it to the ini file but when i boot back into windows now my browsers are no longer sandboxed and when i go to virtualization settings and click add(to add ff&ie)nothing happens?its like it disabled the sandbox.am i doin something wrong here?

Well I don’t have the pro version so I can’t check it out.

However, that said, it would depend on exactly what you enter as the parameter at the end of the line, given what PK said:
0 = hide, 1 = show always, 2 = show only for admin users.

If you put 0 them presumably it hides that option and you can’t use it perhaps you should try =1 as the parameter.

snapshot back to early install updated and did it again with 0 and it worked.i dont know maybe a glitch who knows.thanks everyone for your time.and thanks pk for your time and effort good job
