When I go into a different user account (my husbands) there are not problems and I can go on the internet and don’t have any pop-ups at all. I scanned with avast using the other account and it told me there were no threats I am baffled

XP Security Tool 2010, XP Defender Pro, Vista Security Tool 2010, and Vista Defender Pro are all new rogues that are exactly the same program. They are just shown with different names and interfaces depending on the version of Windows that it is run on.
No need to make a screenshot, if you have problems with it.
Just look at your screen and tell us the name of the fake av.
Is it the one Pondus thinks of?
asyn
Asyn, just wanted to let you know that I got rid of the fake security I was reading my manual what came with my PC and was reading about a system restore the you can do so I did one, I took it back to the day before I picked up this fake security and hurray it worked, I had to do it really quick 'cos the fake security stops you from accessing the programme so you have to do it really quick and close the pop-ups as quick as they appear.
What I would now like to know is why Avast never blocked this malaware and why when I managed to do a scan using my husband’s login it never picked it up!!!
Thanks for your input to my problem and hopefully it won’t happen again.
