I am a longtime user of Avast AV and Rollback Rx Pro. They have proved to get along most amicably previously on my systems until now. Recently Rollback Rx has issued a new Pro release 12.5. I attempted today to install it.
My current system is Dell 8950 with Windows 11 Pro fully updated.
Avast immediately quarantined the setup.exe file with a generic filerep malware error. (I sent the file to avast for analysis). I turned off avast (until next restart) and with a renewed installation file installed the Rollback Rx 12.5 version. It requires a restart to complete its setup so Avast was running again as the new version started. More than one avast error message was generated but were flashing so fast on top of each other that it was almost impossible to read. One of the messages appeared to be a request to send a report to Avast and I believe I was able to do that. It appears from the quarantine a file C:\Program Files\Shield\ ShdServe.exe had generated an IDP.generic.bbea7ba1a740.3.2 error.
I suspect that there may not be too many users of the product here but I was wondering if anyone else has encountered problems with the new release and Avast.
Just to complete the story I reverted my system reinstalling Rollback Rx Pro Version 12.0 with no complaints from Avast.
