Rooted Android Phone - will no longer connect to any WiFi networks after install

Hi there,

I had installed Avast! for my desktop computer and it asked if I wanted it to be installed on my other connected google devices, so I agreed. It popped up on my phone and installed and asked me to uninstall some app which I did.

I now realize that many moons ago a friend of mine rooted the phone so that we could retrieve some pictures of a trip I took that accidentally had been deleted before I synced them with my computer.

In any case, I’ve tried uninstalling Avast! on my phone and reinstalling it, but no matter what I try, when I try to get my phone to connect to a network via WiFi it simply gets stuck at “Connecting”… But using data over the cell network works fine.

It’s a Galaxy S4 SGH-I337M running Android 4.4.2.

Any ideas on what may have gone on and how I might be able to resolve it?

Hi Darwinain,
this looks like some advanced problem. Could you please contact our support guys on android@avast.com?

Thank you!
