Recently started receiving Rootkit Alert from Avast re: file ATWPkT2.sys32 which turns out to be an AOL file.
Warning says" A suspicious hidden object (rootkit) has been detected on your system. This may be a sign of malware infection etc."
Went through all procedures i.e. Ignore, Delete Now, “Do not tell me about Rootkit in future”.
Scanned all files. Reinstalled AOL 9.1 . Downloaded AVG Rootkit finder, which did not find any rootkits.
I’m still having the same problem every day.
Can anyone out there help??? PLeeeeese!!
A forum search for ATWPkT2.sys returns three hits, this one and two others. See this post http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=34670.0 is the most recent and probably the same as your detection alert.
