Rootkit Detected by Avast in Heuristic mode.

Hiya People,

My PC was running fine till about a week back. I was not at my station and sumone happened to have used a PEN-DRIVE which was loaded with a VBS-MALWARE-gen. Avast cleared that upp but now every now n then I get a pop-up from Avast saying Heuristic Scanning detected a Rootkit/Hidden Process in “C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32~.exe” It asked me to either DELETE or IGNORE. I chose DELETE, then it asked me for a boot time scan which I setup n ran. nothing was found. Now everytime I start-up the PC it gives me the same pop-up. Can any one help me get rid of it.

Please help me.

Hi Teja,

You could try to scan with Malware Bytes and then scan your system with hijackThis after that you could posting to hijackthis.de to know your system more deep.

As for your additional Anti Rootkit tools, you could try to download on GMER Anti Rootkit Freeware
