Rootkit in this Driverpackage ???

Hi,

a few days ago i installed Win XP new after my PC smoked down.
Today i decide to install the Driver package from my Creative Audigy 2 ZS. I looked for good drivers and found it. After download i scanned it with AVAST and there was nothing found.

But by the install procedure Avast told me that there is a rootkit. So i brake the installation.

Can maybe someone take a look to this installation pack and tell if it was a false alarm from AVAST ???
I found this download in the Creative Forum.

For sending it, it is to big, so i give the link to download.

What’s wrong with official Audigy 2 ZS drivers? ??? You get rootkit there as well on download?

(Won’t bother downloading some Hotfile junk myself, leaving for others to verify.)

Hi,
had problems with the Micro, if i speak on Skype my friends hear my voice to silent. Thats the prob so i looked for a solution. ;))

Well I personally would not use any third party modded drivers unless I have modified those myself or they came from a trusted source such as some dedicated moders forum. (Definitely not random crap from Hotlink, Rapidshare or whatever.)

Hi,

How can think that i found a crap in this Forum :o it is the Creative Forum. So i tought it is OK.

Thats why i ask if someone can take a look to tell if it is a false alarm by AVAST

No idea where did they come from - you just posted a Hotfile link. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi,

Yes, sorry my fault. I have integrated the information in my first post.

To avoid malware, never install anything that does not have, at minimum, a valid digital signature purporting to be from a source you trust (e.g., Creative Labs themselves).

Plenty of malware will scan clean in antivirus/antimalware programs.
