Rootkit warning

Hi,

System info:

IBM (Lenovo) P4
WinXPSP2
Avast Home 4.8
Zone Alarm (Free version)

I’ve just received a warning message from Avast that it has detected a suspicious hidden rootkit file in C:\Program Files\Lenovo\Rescue and Recovery\Wam.sys

The only options are either to delete or ignore. There is no quarantine option.

What do I do?

I would say choose ignore. It’s part of your recovery.

Do a google search for Recovery\Wam.sys
