RPC Error

Guys Your help is needed.

We have an issue were RPC logs erros in the event log and avast isn’t working. We have tried re-installing but the same applies.

I reinstalled the MDAC and put the latest version of Avast server back on. Same issue still I am afraid.

Here is the log entry:

02/08/2005 08:07:27 1122966447 administrator 5900 Error in aswChestC: chestOpenList Error 1753.

02/08/2005 08:07:27 1122966447 administrator 5900 aswChestInterface - Program error description: CChestListView::LoadFiles() chestOpenList() failed: 2147422219.

02/08/2005 08:10:00 1122966600 administrator 5900 aswChestInterface - Program error description: CChestListView::OnCreate() !m_strErrorWnd.IsEmpty().

Please can you assist.

It’s always the same question. Is the avast antivirus service started? If not, can you started?

If this is a Win2K3 server, and the service always starts and then (after a short while) it suddenly dies, try changing the Log On settings for the service. Use the LocalSystem account, that should solve the problem.
