I just found out that Avast offers Apps for some Linux OS’. Linux Mint claims that you can run Windows Apps within it. I have not tried this yet.
List item Linux Mint uses a lot of Ubuntu code within it. Mint is not on the List for Avast Business. I wonder if it is or could be made compatible.
While trying to run antivirus programs in another OS would not work, the coding different, do you think I could run Avast VPN in a Linux sandbox, that not requiring detailed OS specific info? Or maybe Avast Browser too? I am allowed multiple platforms w/ Avast Ultimate, the Linux just another platform.
I prefer Mint to Ubuntu or the other packages but might switch in the future & buy Avast Linux. Just thought I’d ask about the Sandbox notion that I have not even tried yet in Mint.
Because of specific virus definitions targeted at the OS as well as apps that run under it, that seems clear. I would need Avast Linux, but do you include Avast VPN? This is just a general Internet specific app w/o any other function than hide IP addresses. The Avast firewall is separate to that though likely tailored to it. The Internet is the Internet?
I don’t think Windows version of SecureLine VPN would work neither on Wine. The problem is, resident anti-virus or VPN needs some system-level modification to function; to scan files or to redirect connections. I’m not an expert of Wine but I suppose Wine does not support these system-level modifications.
On the other hand, web browsers usually uses basic OS functions only; thus it might work on Wine.
