Runtime error after each reboot

I’ve searched and found other threads about this issue (some as old as 2004) but no solution.

Anyway. After each reboot Windows tells me that there was an error message it couldn’t show on the desktop and want me to retrieve it.

The errormessage is some Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error which I can’t take screen shot of, but it states that some part of avast couldn’t be started and the icon has this red stop sign on it.

To fix it, I have to go to Microsoft’s service thingy and press start. It is set on automatic, BTW. Tried repairing the avast installation but didn’t help. I’ve also tried to reinstall the Microsoft Visual 2005 C++ redistributables but didn’t help either.

Can anyone help me get this issue resolved?

Sometimes this indicates a corrupt avast installation by malware.
I suggest an installation from the scratch, a full scanning with avast and possibly an on-line scanning with Kaspersky, for instance.
Other thing you should consider is using the latest avast beta that has a self-protection module.

Thanks for the help. That made the trick. ;D

I must just make a suggestion; please teach the translators that did the Norwegian translation some grammar. Word splitting (lamme lår and lammelår is two totally different things … (paralysed thighs vs lamb legs)) and spelling mistakes makes the program seem less professional.

Can you open a new thread for this?
Hope Igor is following you on this… he can help and correct any error.
