Which Operating System are you using? Windows XP, Vista, Windows7?
What Other Security Programs are you running with Avast? which Firewall or other Anti Spyware Protection if any are you using?

What was your previous Anti Virus prior to Avast if any?

And tell us in detail what happens when you start your computer…The more we know the more we can suggest for you…

Daris I refuse to accept advice from people that use Windows XP SP2 and IE7

Please read:
Support for Windows XP Service Pack 2 ends on July 13, 2010

And it will not have one. You can only switch using avast icon on system tray, alternating to SafeZone.

Daris when i open my laptop , the avast want me to update the anti virus then when its finish the safezone appear and thats it , i cannot open it now…

MY guess is that you might have installed a TRIAL edition of Avast, instead of the FREE edition.

Download the FREE (not trial) latest stable (currently, Avast FREE 6.0.1289). Download http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility too. Uninstall your current Avast, Reboot into Windows Safe Mode and run the removal tool just downloaded (selecting the correct path if it is still there and the correct version of Avast you had).

Then reboot again into Normal Mode and install Avast using the just downloaded new FREE edition of Avast. Once installed, reboot immediately once again.

Test Avast FREE for some days and then use the built in registration method (yes, it’s free, but registration is still needed about once a year).

Hi Eigra,

please could you send file c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\setup.log to vanek@avast.com?

thanks a lot

hi hectic,
what do you mean c program files of avast, its been 4 to 5 days and i cannot use my laptop coz of this safezone browser. to tell you prankly this safezone browser is not helping me coz i cannot do my job , i have lots of important things in my laptop… i hope someone in avast team can help me… thank a lot and have a nice day…

Hi eigra

Do I understand you correctly that your computer is in SafeZone and you can’t exit it, so you left your computer on the past days ? I see what you did try is clicking the Green Arrow, but did you also try clicking the Orange Ball and than the Red Cross ?

Maybe my questions sounds stupid to you, but I want to be sure about your situation.

hi rednose,

yes, it is … i click already the green button and dont want to switch back and i try also to click the orange one but when im going to take out my cursor in the orange button its not going to appear… thank for your reply …

Ok, I don’t see any other option than a hard shut down by keep pushing the On/Off button untill your computer shuts down. Wait for at least 10s and start your computer again. Than please provide hectic-mmv the requested information.

I don’t know if hectic-mmv will take over from there, but I will keep monitoring this topic as well.

hi rednose

even i switch the on/off of my laptop , still the same nothing change until now… this is not helping me anymore coz i have lots of important things in my laptop… i hope there’s anyway to take out this to my laptop… avast invented the safezone browser so i think there’s anyway to take out this to my laptop…

I don’t understand. Did you try a hard shutdown, so your pc has to boot again when you switch it on again ?

Btw I have send the SafeZone developer an email with a link to this topic.

Greetz, Red.

The whole idea is to shut down -, and to start Windows again, in Normal - or in Safe Mode ( by tapping F8 when starting the laptop ). And when a hard shutdown doesn’t work, simply disconnect the power supply and Windows will eventually be forced to shut down.
