SafeZone moves some of my desktop icons

After I use SafeZone and close it, some of my desktop icons have been moved to other locations on the desktop. I’ve had this problem for many months. In fact contacted Tech Support and my rep was amazed this was happening and said she’d refer it to the Team. I had hoped that with Premier 2015 this glitch would’ve been corrected, but it’s still occurring. Would rather not post screenshots in a public forum, but believe me it’s true. It’s not a major problem, but sure is annoying!

Any ideas why this is happening and any fixes?

Thanks!

I’m surprised that no one has replied to this, tho it’s been viewed 79 times …

I would like to hear a response - anyone else have this happen? what’s the fix?

thanks!

No problems using safe zone on 8.1

I don’t use SafeZone since I use the free version of Avast.
If safeZone has a different resolution than your regular desktop, then it’s not Avast but the OS that’s causing the problem.
I run into this problem quite often during my presentations since the resolution of my desktop and the resolution of the projector aren’t the same.
I use a program called Desktop Icon Save and Restore - http://www.midiox.com/desktoprestore.htm
It allows you to save your desktop icons and restore them to the last saved position.

@ Bob
For some reason your are getting font size related issues - your first line is minuscule - only 2 pixel. The rest appears OK.

Should look like/be:

The Desktop Icon Save and Restore sounds like a very neat tool.

Thanks David,
This forum obviously still has some problems. I’m also still having problems with disappearing replies…

This is from one of my Presentations:

When you run into a problem often enough, you generally find a solution.

You’re welcome.

Yes the forum has eaten a couple of my posts today also - I would be spitting feathers if I didn’t have the firefox Form History Control add-on. Not sure if there is a similar add-on for chrome.

Thanks so much. I hadn’t thought of the OS (Win7) resolution not matching the safezone res. Not sure how/why that would cause a problem since safezone is a pop-up window, but … Thanks for the rec for Desktop Icon Save and Restore!

all the best

My please. Glad to be able to help.
