Samsung Galaxy s5 no way to turn on access to Avast

my galaxy s5 says chrome support is disabled and I’m not protected against malicious websites. I click on the enable and a menu pops up telling me to
1.open accessibility settings,
2. select Avast Mobile Security
3. Turn the switch on and then press back twice to return to this screen

when I click on “go to accessibility” in phone settings menu avast nor any other app is in that menu at all. what do I do?

Reinstall AMS. It will then appear and you can activate the protection

It worked! Thank you!

You are welcome. I had to do the same on my phones when they updated to Android 6.x

Hi guys,
I’m glad that you resolved this issue :). Unfortunately this is known issue in android. Also device restart should help (instead of reinstalling AMS).

Restart without AMS reinstall didn’t work for me when I had this issue. BTW, my Android tablet still on lollipop had an update of AMS to 5.3.0 a few days ago. Our 2 phones on Marshmallow are still on 5.2.4. One or the other Android versions usually lag the other on updates.

Just restart should work since 5.3.0.

AMS 5.3.0 is still not showing as an update on our Samsung S5 phones running Marshmallow yet. It did update last week on the Samsung Tab 10.5 running lollipop.

Hi, we release updates to production using a staged rollout - every new update is distributed gradually. First the update reaches only a percentage of devices (chosen at random), and increases over time. Your Samsung devices should receive the update soon, thanks for your patience.

Tereza, I figured as much. However, it’s been a week and a half since the tablet updated to v5.3.0 and a couple of days ago it updated to v5.3.1. Still no update for my cell phones on Marshmallow.

Edit: Today the Samsung phones on Marshmallow updated to v5.3.1-12219-a1311f8.
