I can no longer use smart Things on either my phone or my laptop. The error message says “Browser not supported” but it lists Chrome as supported and I am using the latest version. I can remember a while back when I signed up to a new Avast app that I got a message about needing to authorise the use of the Avast browser and I suspect this is the cause of the problem. Which app would this have been, and can I disallow the Avast browser?
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member and I don’t use the Avast Secure Browser (ASB).
A screenshot of the error message might help.
You can do this locally - Create a screenshot on your computer and drag and drop the image file into your post.
That said as far as I’m aware the ASB is a stand alone browser (based on Chromium coding), certainly in Windows.
You can in certain browsers also get a browser add-on “Avast Online Security & Privacy” is this what you are talking about ?
Your title appears to conflict with that - Samsung Smart Things says browser not supported as the issue appears to be with Samsung Smart Things blocking it “browser not supported”.
This is the error message. As I am using Chrome, I don’t see why it shouldn’t work, unless, as I said it is the Avast browser. I sent an error message to Samsung as their system asked, but have had no response. My problem is I can’t remember which Avast add-on it was which mentioned that it used an Avast browser and that I had to agree to this n order to use the add-on.
