So, recently I cleanboot my pc, then shut it down for 1-2 hours. When I switched it on, I have to login to my account. It is showing that it is on sync, my saved address, bookmarksbar are there, but my passwords are not. I checked in my sync data and there password was also ticked for sync operation. How can I reprieve my passwords
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member and I don’t use ASB.
In Firefox > Tools > Settings > Privacy and Security > Passwords - there is a means of exporting your passwords.
If there is such a thing in the ASB Settings, if you saved those you should be able to import them. Otherwise, you may have a problem.
In Firefox there is an option to Import from a file or Import from another browser. The later, if an option may be a saviour, import from a previous/different browser.
I did export from other browser, in some of autofillup it pop up, but if I check on password manager it’s still blank. There is login file, but I am not sure whether that is updated after cleanboot or before it was already there because it is showing the time of after cleanboot
You Export from another browser, that would save them as a file, then that file would have to be Imported. Either that or Use the Import option from another browser within ASB. Or is that what you tried - if so try exporting the file and importing that.
Note this image is from Firefox, so your other browser should have a similar function.
As I have mentioned I can’t speak from personal experience as I don’t use the ASB browser.
Avast now operate a password vault which you need to open, first time you need to set up and make a password, then it’s up to you to open it each time you close down and restart. this may be where all your passwords are hiding
