Saving Setup

Thanks to all for the info on setup to date…

Once I get all the settings just how I want them, how can I save them in case of emergency?

Regards,
Chuck Billow

Most of your settings will be contained in the avast4.ini and avast4.mdb files in the ‘C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA’ folder you could save a copy of those on your HDD.

As far as I’m aware there currently isn’t an export/save settings in avast.

Thanks David

Besides avast4.ini file save avast4.mdb one

So how come the enhanced.htm shows up nowhere?

Chuck

What do you mean? Two things are not related…
If you’re using the Professional version, better is to configure a ‘Silent Installation’. There is this option under the File menu, I suppose.
You’ll be able to save everything, except the Registration Key.
Help file has something to teach too…

Again, I don’t understand the relationship between Enhanced.htm file and settings of avast…

The issue of the enhanced.htm came up when I Was trying to access the settings for the pro version…

That’s the point that started my whole search… that’s when I first got the error message…

From there, I got to the “Once I get all this, how can I save it…”

the setting of the default handling for the empty subject line was a new item…

AAMOF, that is one that I wish I could set separately: Just because the subject line is vacant isn’t necessarily suspicious to me, so that one item I wish I could set to allow always…

But you are right, I ended up with a couple of threads going at the same time…

Chuck

??? Non-native English… ???

It was not useless, you can always learn
Well, did you test the ‘Silent instalation’?

As A Matter Of Fact

Thanks.

I saved:
Avast4.db
and
avast4.ini

In this case, avast should be installed in the same path as before.

Yeah thanks. I always use the default install path.
