I’m trying out Avast Pro for the first time and really like it. However, in simple mode, I am able to do a thorough scan and scan archive files. When I am in the enhanced mode, the scan skips archived files. I know it does because I tested it using a ZIPed EICAR test file. I can’t seem to find the settings in Enhanced mode to scan these types of files. Anyway, any help would be greatful. Thanks!
You have to configure the used task accordingly.
I would suggest to make a copy of the default task (e.g. “Scan: interractive selection” or “Scan: local disks”, whatever you want to use) - by rightclicking on it and choosing Create copy.
Then, select the copy of the task, rightclick it again and select Properties. Now, you can change the properties of the task.
First, check the Advanced configuration checkbox, if it’s not already.
Then, select the Packers page and configure the archive types just as you want (e.g. check the All packers checkbox).
Now, the task should behave as you expect it.
