Scan error--cannot create file when file already exists

I cannot perform any scan. I’m using Avast free anti-virus.

The error message says: “Cannot create file when file already exists.”

Would you tell me how to fix this error.

Never seen that before (in person or posted here). Some off-hunch tells me to try a reboot first, if you have not.

If that fails to help, try a program repair

How2: Start as though you are going to uninstall Avast! normally via Control Panel, but choose the Repair option instead.

The computer DOESN’T get infected when some files are not getting infected after the message appears. :smiley:
