Scan Results:

Question 1.
After Avast scans my computer, is there a place where I can view the number of files that were scanned and the number of any that were infected and or deleted?

Question 2.
I do not understand what a license is for. What is the difference between having one license or 199 licenses, and if I upgrade to the Avast Home Professional software, why is purchasing one license more expensive than purchasing multiple licenses ? Is having one license a better option than having multiple licenses ? Thank you

  1. for on-demand scans if there is an infected file, the scan is interrupted and all hell breaks loose and you will know it is infected.

During the Simple User Interface session, SUI (used to run the on-demand scans) you can right click on the SUI skin and there is a menu item Last Scan Results. This data in the home version isn’t retained after the SUI session.

avast doesn’t delete anything automatically, this is a restriction in the free Home version, it requires interactive input, hence the stopping of the scan (see above) and you have to decide what action to take (move to the chest being the best). The Pro version doesn’t have these restrictions.

  1. In relation to the Pro version a license is for each individual system that the Pro version is installed and it is valid for 1 year and you need to renew it.

The Home Pro is a concession to Home users that want the additional functionality/flexibility of the pro version but couldn’t reasonably afford to pay for a full Pro license. You still have to be using it for Home non-commercial purposes or you would have to buy the full Pro (commercial use) version fee.

Many homes have multiple systems for kids, etc. and it is this which would make buying the full Pro license very expensive, so the home pro version allows for up to 10 (I believe) computers in the Home (non-commercial) to be covered at a very reasonable fee.

Thank you David for replying to my inquiry, it was very helpful to me in understanding about licenses and how Avast scans my computer. Thanks again and have a nice week.
