I just downloaded the free version and I’m on my trial of the full version. I started a full system scan a while ago. Run Time is now at 1:10:55 as I write this. It’s been sitting at 4% for the last 20 min. Why is it taking so long? Is a full system scan supposed to take all day? Are there options to increase scan priority to speed up the scan?
Length of time to scan would very depending on how much there is on your HDD to scan ??? have you made any changes to the default settings ? have you rebooted after the install of avast
No I haven’t changed the default settings, but I do have a pretty large hard drive. I’m still surprised that at 2:42:19 it’s still only at 17%. Almost three hours to scan 199.2 gb of data seems very slow, or would I be wrong on thinking that?
what other security programs installed ?
