Scanning https streams

Is avast! able to scan https: streams?

Could I just change:

[WebScanner]
HttpRedirectPort=80

to:

[WebScanner]
HttpRedirectPort=80,443

to make avast! scan https: connections too?

https web pages are encrypted until they get to your browser-webshield can’t decrypt them, so can’t scan them. Once they are downloaded and decrypted by your browser, the avast! standard scanner should virus scan them as usual when opened as a file.

https traffic is secure and if avast could scan them, it wouldn’t be very secure. only traffic on

https scanning would require either much closer interaction with the browser (to use its encryption keys) or simply making WebShield act as the browser (that is, manage your keys etc).

At this moment, neither of this is implemented. Should the importance of https sites grow, we may reconsider this.
