SCANS take soooo long

Hi There,
I only have about 40 gigs of progs on my HD…I noticed that AVAST is scanning my USB. How can I shut that off? It is taking so long why would I want it to do the external HD which is used for my Time Machine?? The scan goes on and on and on and on!!

Hey I need some answers here and no one seem’s to be around to answer questions…It makes me wonder why do we even need this forum when no one answers your questions!!! Look at the 0 replies and tell me if that is good or what?

iMac i7 and 16Gigs of ram… what is going on?

I guess no one will answer me so what I did was RAN my backups.

Then I ejected the external HD, turned off the power and did the Avast full scan and it worked.
