Scheduled scans not working

Hi,

I have Avast Internet Security version 2014.9.0.2013, and have set scheduled scans to run, but sometimes they fail to start at the set time and then start running at a later time. Is this a known issue?

Thanks.

Is the time and date on your computer correct?
If they are try a repair…Control Panel>Uninstall a Program>double click “avast”>click “repair”>reboot.

If that fails try the new beta, it’s very stable http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=147290.msg1069416#msg1069416

Yes, the time and date are correct.
I’ve done the Repair you suggested, so now it’s just a case of waiting to see if that works.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Well the Repair hasn’t worked. The schedules are sometimes done at the correct time, and sometimes not. :frowning:

Any other suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks.

Please update to the latest version: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=147778.0

I’m set up for automatic updates, and am on version 2014.9.0.2016.

  • OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…??
  • Which AV(s) did you use before avast!..??
  • Windows 8.1 64 Bit (Sorry, I’m not very techy. What does SP stand for?)
  • WOT
  • Avast free version
  1. Download avast! Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

OK, I’ll try that.

Thanks for your help.

You’re welcome.

Just looked at your signature, and realised that SP stands for Service Patch, I think! ::slight_smile:

Yes, but there’s no SP for W8.1, so you/we can ignore it.

I’ll post tomorrow to let you know how I get on. I’ve got family things to attend to for the rest of tonight. :o

OK, no problem.

Well, for a few days after following these instructions, the scan was done on schedule, but has started doing the scans at random times again. ???
