No, the scheduling options are only available in avast! Professional.
For some tasks, you can use Windows scheduler with avast! quick scanner, but it certainly isn’t that flexible.

Check this work around out - HOWTO: Scheduled Automatic Scans avast! Home Version!

The major disadvantage with the task scheduler trick of using ashquick.exe is, it will scan every file of the hdd, partition, folder or file that you set it to scan; even those files not considered a potential threat, this can take a long time. It is possible to add certain folders to the exclusions list for say your media files, etc. This could leave you vulnerable if that folder got infected as it wouldn’t be scanned by the on-demand scanner as you have excluded it.

The Pro version gives a lot more flexibility and the scan would follow the settings and exclusions, etc. of the regular scan.

With the different levels of protection of and the fall back of the Standard Shield, I find the need for daily scheduled scans lessened. I prefer to do a manual scan with my regular weekly maintenance tasks.

Thank’s .

I have done how you have written reguard Scheduler Automatic with Systems Tools and Scheduler Tasks of Accessories of Windows XP.

But go only the scansion rapid (fast) and it is no good.

Perhaps We change :

ashQuick.exe…in …

It’s necessary an other …exe of Avast

C:|Program Files|Alwil Software|Avast4|…exe." C: E: F: H: I:

Thanks for your answer which I wait patiently.

Hi GDLAN
The answer David gave you is the best you can do using the home (free) version of avast!
If you truly need scheduling, then you might consider buying the Pro. version.

I personally have never used this work around as I feel it isn’t required as I said.

With the different levels of protection of and the fall back of the Standard Shield, I find the need for daily scheduled scans lessened. I prefer to do a manual scan with my regular weekly maintenance tasks.

So I would have to look at the references in the How To link I gave.

If you have tried this syntax and it doesn’t work then perhaps the paths are incorrect, I see some possible flaws in that the path to the drives or folders seem to be missing the \ try it with that and see if it works, e.g. :
“C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe” C:\ E:\ - this will scan the entire contents of the C: and E: drives
“C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe” “C:\Program Files” E:\Downloads

However, since no one has mentioned this in the thread I don’t know if this is a factor. But all this is for no purpose if it isn’t absolutely necessary to use this to schedule scans, you have to have a reason for wanting to do this ?

Most people say they want to do it because their previous AV did it, but the avast on-access scanners reduce this need and a manual scan at Standard sensitivity doesn’t take that long.
