I have Internet Security and can’t find anywhere to schedule weekly full scans. Can anyone help?
It is an option within the scan that you want to do.
AvastUI, Scan Computer, Scan Now, select whichever scan you want to do, Quick or Full System Scan (or a custom one) and open the More Details option, Settings, click the Scheduling Tab for settings.
and i would go for a quick scan …and only run full if something is detected …
remeber you have realtime protection that run in the background as long as the comp is on

In reference to scheduling scans; then I don’t need to schedule anything since installing the AvastFree about a week ago? When I look at the scan logs, they are blank and I wondered if I am supposed to do something. So are you saying that the scans run in realtime by default, and I can (and probably should) just leave everything alone?
Scheduling scans aren’t a pre-requisite, you can do manual on-demand scans or if you wish schedule them.
Unless you run a manual or scheduled scan than these Scan Logs will be empty as they only deal with these scans.

It’s a good idea, i schedule a quick scan once a week for my own systems.
There is nothing wrong with scheduling a weekly quick scan or full scan. Personally I run a quick scan twice a week and a full scan once a week. I run my scans while I am using my laptop. But if I forget to run a scan, no big deal as I am still protected. There are some users who schedule weekly quick scans. The choice is yours but a daily full scan is not necessary since avast has built in resident shields. A weekly scan is not a bad idea in fact it’s a good idea. Go for it.
