Script blocker does not work [not solved yet]

I can’t get Script Blocker to work in anyway…
I’ve uninstalled it, boot, install again… nothing. Repair, nothing…
I’m not using any other script application (as far I know).
What could be the problem?

Nothing…
Still nothing…
Windows XP SP2+, IE or Maxthon to test Script Blocker…
Nothing in logs that makes me thing… I’ll test another avast! language to see…

C’mon Alwil team… Any guess for this annoyance?

No idea, I’m afraid :-
Does the avast! splash screen appear when you start the browser (assuming you have the splash screen turned on, of course)?

Yes Igor, it appears :‘( :’(
The counter remains always in zero

I found the monster…
Database=XML is due to this… Can you say me something?
I put it back to Database=ODBC and it start working

Oh… are you sure about it? I mean, if you put XML back, does it stop working again?

Do you really want that I try?
I mean… after all this mess.
It was not the beta 4.6.718 that I’ve updated some days before. Today, that did the trick…

I forget… I’m using Maxthon and it’s working perfectly.

Well, changing the database is just checking one option in program settings (and possibly restarting), or is there anything more?

I’ll try and, tomorrow morning, post what I get… ::slight_smile:

You’re fully right Igor (as usual)… It was not the database storage method ::slight_smile:
It was not the beta, I’m sure, I have it two days and Script Blocker did not work…
Gremlins :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, I wasn’t trying to “be right”, I just wanted to be sure that it’s really the cause (because it seemed a little suspicious to me, and also “too easy”). Personally, I’d rather hear that it really was the storage type - because we would know where to look for the problem…
Random (gremlin) stuff is hard to solve :-\

Igor, help me :‘(
It’s happening again… I can’t enable Script Blocking :’(
If I was not checking it… I won’t even know it was not working :stuck_out_tongue:

I tried to repair my installation twice. Failed :stuck_out_tongue:
I uninstall avast!, boot and install again. Script Blocker works like a charm.
Definitively, there is something in the installation process that the repair procedure does not reproduce.
There is something in my computer that disables Script Blocker…
Is there any way to correct the wrong repair procedure and to log (or debug) what’s wrong with Script Blocker being disabled?

When Script Blocker stops working again, check the key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID{f414c260-6ac0-11cf-b6d1-00aa00bbbb58}\InprocServer32

What values does it have and what’s the content?

I’ll do it for sure.
Right now, with Script Blocker working and just for info purposes, that key has the following content:
