Secunia Online Scan broken? :O

Dear Forum Users,

Why does Secunia’s online scan not show any current programs or those in need of update once the scan has completed?

I have the following setup - tried it in FF 3.0.7 and (reluctantly) in Shiternet Explorer 7. The scan completed ok but where it usually shows the list of programs it has detected, and their status (ie. up to date or outdated) there are no results shown.

I have disabled Ad-Block Plus, Finjan Secure browsing, Enabled Java and Javascript in FF, turned off script blocking in Avast, Turned of Privacy Control in ZA Pro.

What am I missing? :S Secunia always worked for me online :S

Am using the scan at http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/?task=load

Would be grateful for any help!

I cannot say for sure… I use the installed (local) version of Secunia (PSI).

There has been some changes to the Secunia site, you probably noticed and there are some pre-checked options which would restrict what is displayed.

My last scans (always use firefox) have always had problems first it doesn’t recognise that I have the right JAVA or some thing and I have to tell it to continue and it fails. I click the Stop button and then click Start and it completes.

This last time it didn’t display any results but it did say that there were no vulnerable software versions and that was good enough for me.

Something which you could try is the IE Tab add-on for firefox and see if using the IE engine for that tab within firefox works.

Avastfan1, I guess you must be from the UK and a laid off union coal miner as you are too lazy to fill in your profile and too much time on your hands except to visit the local pub then complain here about you lack of reading comprehension skills.

DavidR and Tech: I thank you both for the replies. They are much appreciated.

YoKenny: I am not even going to dignify such nonsense with a response. Grow up you child.

Why such a bitter comment? ???

Hi Tech,

I wouldn’t bother. Seriously. Not worth putting yourself down to such a primitive level.

Best wishes,

Avastfan1

My suggestion of using IE Tab within firefox to run the scan worked without flaw so that is another option.

Another nice negative post. Well done YoKenny. :frowning: :o >:(
