Subject says it all. “SecureLine VPN blocks Printer on S24, but not on A20 Samsung phones”
I have tried setting Local Network Bypass to ‘On’, still will not print. Only way I can get it to print is to manually disable VPN. All 3 printer drivers installed on phone are ‘unavailable’ when VPN is on. When VPN is off, all 3 printer drivers installed on phone are available.
Is there a setting I am overlooking which when switched, will allow printing to my local home network, when the VPN is ON?
Well I don’t use the Avast SecureLine VPN - so I can’t speak from personal experience.
But it may be the Avast Firewall/Network Inspector that is involved in this. Check the Avast UI > Protection > Firewall > Networks. My home network is set as Trusted.
It may have to do with how the Firewall is set up for your Network, Trusted or Public. Whilst trusted might see the best option many of mine (WiFI) are set to untrusted and I don’t seem to have any issue with those.
My home network was/is set to Trusted. I removed an old Trusted network [Spectrum], but that had no effect. There is one network that was set to trusted that I did not recognize.
In my Blocking section, I do see that my laptop is set to Trusted IP, should I add my printer IP as Trusted? I have no issue printing from laptop, maybe I need to add my Phone IP [if it is such a thing] as Trusted?
Thank you DavidR, you got me thinking. And after adding my phoneIP to my home Network, in the Router > Firewall > Blocking page, as Trusted, I’m able to print whilst my phone VPN is ON. Thanks.
