I have Avast Internet Security and Secureline VPN. I have VPN configured to run at startup and the avast interface shows it is on, however, the tray icon shows it is disconnected. I only disconnect if I am gaming and don’t really need the VPN. If I right click the icon I get the option to disconnect. If I disconnect and re-connect, the icon shows connected as it should. What is the purpose of the tray icon if it doesn’t show the correct state?
I have the same issue, and had opened a post in “Avast SecureLine VPN for Windows”.
same here. tray icon shows disconnected but i have a verified connection to glasgow server.
Hello
Thanks to all of you for your reports. It seems that the tray icon initial state is not handled properly. We forwarded this to our developers and are planning to fix this problem in following update.
M.
Any idea when this may happen?
Are you running the standalone version…?
It seems to be difficult to fix, because we got the same reply about it being fixed in the next update a month or so ago already (not sure if it was in this post or another one on this subject). However, a few updates have come and gone since it was reported, but it’s still not fixed.
Also what is the latest concerning the new Safe Zone Browser?
Asyn.
I use it with Avast Internet Security
Hi
The problem with wrongly set initial state of SecureLine tray icon was localized and fixed. The fix for the Avast AV SecureLine addon will be released in the final 18.2 release.

Any anticipated release date ???
The final release is planned for this/next week.

I just got the avast securline. Both the icon in the taskbar and the desktop icon show disconnected. only showing connected when i open avast and click the privacy tab. The others also prompt me to pay $2.99 a month or trial… which is weird, since i just paid for this!
I just got the Avast latest Version update, and the icon problem is fixed. Now only the Safe Zone Browser, and we’re good to go again
This problem just came back. It’s frustrating not knowing, at a glance, whether VPN is on or not.
I just uninstalled 18.4 and reinstalled 18.4.
I think this might have something to do with the latest Windows update for Win10 (April/May release).
Any news?
Same problem. I had problems with the Windows update and now SecureLine doesn’t work. It shows the Disconnected box and connect to Washington DC. It also says "your license is valid. Connect via Avast SecureLine/VPN now! but I can’t. I tried the few things that the box allows me to do but nothing works.
It’s not affecting me and I’m on Windows 10 v1803.
Wonder if a clean install might help ??? https://goo.gl/4Ptzkf
