I recently tired out R-Firewall on my computer. When I uninstalled it, Windows Security Center told me that R-Firewall was still protecting my computer. After I’d reinstalled Kerio, Security Center informed me I had two firewalls running.
I have deleted every registry entry made by R-Firewall I could find, except for some legacy entries.
Does anybody know where Security Center is getting the idea that R-Firewall is still installed?
This seems to be a major bug both for R-Firewall and for Security Center, as it causes Security Center to report that the computer is protected when in fact it is not.
Follow the method proposed in this thread by Daemon for your trouble, and let us see what you get using the tools here proposed. Curious what StartDreck finds there. You could also save a log using TDIMON, and see what processes run and where. It is always difficult to chase what worm moves in the worm can, but analyze and you will find, especially in temp files, in most cases it is something that is restored automatically by XP.
The bug is still there? I have the same problem with my security center as well. R-Firewall leaves a huge mess that just annoys me. I was force to go deeper into my registry but I still keep getting two firewalls in my Security Center. However I have not received any conflicts nor problems that would deal with two firewalls on my PC since I’ve delete every possible R-Firewall files that I could find, but the Security Center still mark me that R-firewall is still on my PC, probably still in the Registry. :-\
