Selecting connection location

How do I change the connection location on SecureLine VPN?

First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member and I don’t use the Avast VPN.

I literally copied and pasted your question on google and bang answer in the AI Overview and first hit.

I hope this helps.

I neglected to add that I’m using my Windows 11 PC. I added that to the information you had requested from Google and got the answer. Thanks for your assistance - much appreciated!

You’re welcome.

Hey, so to change the connection location in SecureLine VPN (assuming it’s Avast’s, since that’s the common one), it’s pretty straightforward once you’re in the app. First, make sure you’re running the desktop version on Windows or Mac—mobile is a bit different but similar.

Open the SecureLine VPN app, and on the main screen, you should see your current location or an option to connect. If it’s in Smart mode (which auto-picks the fastest server), switch to Manual mode: Go to the menu (usually the hamburger icon ☰), then Settings > VPN Mode, and toggle to Manual. That lets you pick specific spots.

Now, back on the main screen, look for the “Change” button or the location tile (it might say something like “Optimal Location” or your current city). Click that, and a list of countries and cities pops up. Just pick the one you want—like if you’re after US servers, there’s options for New York, LA, Dallas, etc. Hit connect, and boom, you’re good.

If it’s stuck or not showing options, try disconnecting first, restarting the app, or even checking for updates. Sometimes it defaults to the nearest/fastest, but manual mode fixes that. Worked for me when I wanted to switch from East Coast to West for streaming.

For mobile (Android/iOS), it’s even simpler: Tap the server location at the bottom of the screen and select from the list.
