Sensitive Data Shield-false sense of security?

When I run Sensitive Data Shield, it will say 4 (sometimes 5) documents unprotected.
I then click to protect them.
I get a response of “All documents protected!”
BUT…if I run SDS immediately again…it says the EXACT SAME THING. 4 documents unprotected, and I need to click to protect them.
I can do this many times in a row, and it ALWAYS says the same thing.

Ummm…to me this says that the SDS is just an exercise in FALSE security.

It has done this since I first began using AVAST, over 1 year.

  • Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
  • Which version…?
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?

Does this help?

Avast Data Shield isn’t part of Avast Free or Avast Pro.
If you’re using one of these, the popup is sales pitch for that paid product.
