Sensitive Data Shield is turned off, so why is it still scanning?

I have turned off Sensitive Data Shield, yet when I do a ‘smart scan’ Avast still scans for sensitive data & asks if I want to protect it. No. That is what I turned it off. What is the point of having an option to turn it off if it still runs a pointless scan?

Yes, this is a pain in the backside in the Smart (NOT) Scan.

Interesting - so this issue is affecting the Premier/Pro version as well as the Free version.
I have been trying to get this fixed in the Free version - where there are no controls for Sensitive data scan or shield as it is not included in the product. But it keeps being added to Smart Scan and can’t be removed.

I had assumed that the Premier/Pro version included a Smart Scan config option to remove the Sensitive Data scan element from Smart Scan. If present it should be found here: Menu, Settings, Smart Scan, Customise - if not then both products have an uncontrolled Smart Scan element.

Could be viewed as a bug, but I think not. Avast is able to reactivate Sensitive Scan at will when you disable it because they use VPS updates to do so.

Your choice to run Smart Scan but I personally choose not to.
