Separators in Explorer's context-menu

Could you please add horizontal separators above and below the Avast entry in Windows Explorer’s context-menu?

Thank you.

You should ask Microsoft, not avast.

Use CCleaner to disable the context menus.

I have read that sort of thing can slow you down somewhat, especially on an older system.

Context menus were designed to make work quicker.
So you save few milliseconds and then have to work for 5 minutes to what you could have done in a second. Puzzling advice.
Indeed, in CCleaner, specific items can be disabled, but that almost suggests getting rid of the application that’s in the context menu. Just my opinion

It’s up to the user. I prefer very minimal visuals and unobtrusive installation.

Just like I have Avast set to silent mode. If I want to run a scan, I will. If not, I never want to hear from it.

What does that have to do with context menu?

I’m with cooby. I use the context menus all the time. And I love the ability to add to the SendTo sub-menu.

Having said that, I think the original post is pretty trivial. And Blaine B’s response is utterly irrelevant

Try this tool http://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.214 that should do everything you require.

You read too many comic books.

Absolutely, having a bunch of extras in the context menus does not come at no expense. I don’t use them anyway so that is why I chose to remove them with CCleaner.

I don’t know what any of your posts have to do with the OP’s question but extra items ( shortcuts ) listed in the context menu have no effect on system performance whatsoever.

Technically, any graphic in Windows will use some memory and processing power.

If it did it would be so little that it wouldn’t even register.

That depends on how new your system was.

A few years back I still had a Dell XPS T450 from 1999 with a 449 mhz PIII processor. The additions to the right click menu did make a difference!

A few years back ( a bit more than a few I think  ) isn’t relevant for here and now.

Only if the context menu entry uses a poorly coded context menu handler.
I highly doubt that the users question has anything to do with such a problem.
