1, How did you updated?
– with installer or with “Update button at Maintenance > Update” page ?
2, what was your “old” avast version (the one you’ve updated from?
– could you provide us your setup.log ? Or Support package?

I have updated right now.
@lukas
Update was done by right-clicking the avast icon in the system tray, pointing to update, then clicking “program”
If you would be good enough to direct me where to find the log, I will post.
8)Hello run on windows xp sp3 update ok no problem, I updated the item maintenance interface of avast
My update froms 1426 > 1451 and 1451 >1456 (using the internal updater) both activated ‘participate in the community’ although prior to the updates it had been checked off.
the easiest way will be to let avast “Generate Support Package”. Open “avastUI > MAINTENANCE > Support”, at bottom of the page click “Generate Now” button. Then please upload the package to ftp.avast.com/incoming - https://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=1061 and let us know the name of the “package”.
thank you
Lukas
I have to say this is the most stable version I have seen since v6. Well done Avast.
thank you for your report.
It’s probably a bug - avast! shouldn’t change your settings…
@lukas
I hope I did this right.

I did a clean install and everything is working great. Additional Protection tab is back. Glad I was able to help with this issue.
I found a GUI bug, can someone conform this?
NOPE… Behavioral shield still locks up Firefox 13.1 when a java script is encountered. (IE9 seems to be OK, though).
Ik can confirm that the e-mail problems (XS4All) have been fixed.
Bugger all was going well prior to this update…and now the program struggles with a/v updates…crashes half way thru the download?
Installed on XP machine and all is well.
MS Outlook is still crashing. I’ve made a dump but I don’t have enough signal/bandwidth to upload it.
I’ve tested three times. The plugin is crashing.
Manual update hangs and nothing happens…reminds me of other version changes when so many problems came up…If it ain’t broke why fix it? The last version after all the initial problems seemed oh so stable, then in goes the virtual screwdriver!
New version seems to work fine for me, I’m noticing that Avast now starts up even faster when I turn my computer on. So I don’t know what all you guys changed, I mean besides you showing it, but it seems to work better and I’m having no problem with manual updates.
+1
Firefox feels a bit snappy with 1456 but ever since the 1451 update, it feels so sluggish. Whatever i do it’s always a delay, often becomes unresponsive etc. This never happened before, especially since i’m using SSD in this laptop. Weird.
