Should I be worried? An Avast message just stated that a suspicious file (via heuristic methods) was found in sessionstore.js.
Because there was no option to move it to the chest, I selected submit to Avast for analysis and delete. The only options available were delete or ignore.
I would be grateful for suggestions on what to do now.
The sessionstore.js is a firefox javascript file, entirely depends on the location of the detection, which you didn’t mention.
Thought the bold part of this message is strange “An Avast message just stated that a suspicious file (via heuristic methods) was found in sessionstore.js.”
That is normally a part of the anti-rootkit scan 8 minutes after boot (which it sounds like), was that roughly when it happened and or what were you doing at the time ?
A screenshot of the alert would have been helpful, but now you have deleted it even that is out of the question. So it pays not to hit the nuclear option and delete, act in haste repent at leisure.
