please modify the avast update setup. After every program update my config is reset to default settings and that sucks!

No changes or lose of settings here after any of the program updates.
Can you give us some more details including what providers you have running, what settings are being lost, your OS, avast version, etc.
I’ve running all providers excluding the webshield and the outlook providers. The p2p and im providers have user defined settings.
After every program update the webshield and the outlook provider are restarted and the p2p and im2 providers are reset to default settings.
I’m working with a restricted user accound and my os is win2k sp4

Are you updating from the restricted account or not?
It’s strange, program updates does not ‘lose’ the settings… :-[
Did you boot after the update?
Are you using the Home or Professional (Trial) version?
I’m updating from the restricted account, I reboot after the update and I’m using the home version
That could be the problem…
I think you must do this changes on the Administrator account (or, at least, an account with admin rights).
