Should aswbIDSAgent service be automatic or manual?

I was going through my Windows 7 Events Viewer and saw that aswbIDSAgent service was set at manual. Should it be set at automatic? Thank you.

Mine is set to Manual and it is running in my win10 home 64bit laptop.

So it shouldn’t need to be set to automatic as avast should launch it if you have the behaviour shield enabled.

Are you getting any errors from windows (other than event viewer) or avast ?
e.g. Behaviour Shield not running and it is enabled.

Is it actually running when you check Windows Services (Windows key +R and type services.msc) ?

The aswbIDSAgent service is running after I enabled the Behavior Shield and restarted the computer. The aswbIDSAgent service is set at manual. Is there any other service I should be looking for in Windows Services to make sure that the Behavior Shield is running? Thank you.

Are you having a problem with the Behavior Shield ???

No, I believe that is the only service that is required for the Behaviour Shield. Whilst there are other services that avast uses, I believe this is the one directly related to the Behaviour Shield.

I don’t believe so, given the OPs comment “The aswbIDSAgent service is running after I enabled the Behavior Shield and restarted the computer.” So it looks like it wasn’t enabled to start with.

Like DavidR, this process is set to ‘manual’ here, no issues with Behavior Shield not running so far.

Did note that, in the Settings>Status Monitoring section, in both machines (both W10) ‘Behavior Shield’ was not ticked.

This may mean Behavior Shield is not monitored by default (on install), and must be ticked to be monitored.

Thank you all for your responses. So I guess my question has now been answered. The outcome I have is that I have turned on the Behavior Shield, which was not the case when I started this thread.

You’re welcome.
