since updating yesterday, video will not play on my PC. Windows 7

Since I updated Avast, I can not watch video on my computer. Specifically news as I live overseas and depend on the internet for news from the USA.

Welcome to the forum.
Without further and more detailed information, it’s hard to offer help.

What bob3160 is asking for are more details. Such as what specific sites are affected with your streaming video issues, or are all of them affected coming from the US or do you also have an issue where you are, some/none/all?

You also say you’re not in the local area, so OK to say what country you are trying to view stream from.

I have this same problem. Ever since Avast upgraded itself to the 2014 it breaks all streaming video. That includes YouTube, Lynda.com, etc. Also it breaks loading images over 400 or 500k. Only solution I found was to completely unistall Avast. Re-installing Avast brings back the same problem.

Since we don’t know the problem experienced by the original user, how can you have the same problem ???
Details are still lacking. We can’t answer questions without knowing the problem. What error messages are you getting ???
Where are you located, what kind of a system do you have ??? what other security programs are you running ???
I have no problems viewing or producing and sharing videos and pictures of all sizes.

Not to mention, is this happening with just one browser?
Or, is it happening with every browser you are using?
IE?
Firefox?
Chrome?
Opera?

I have the video problem with Firefox- Windows 7- on USAToday, for example.

If I remove the Avast extension, the video works.

There was no similar problem with IE.

The following was information I sent to one of the folks that attended my Avast sponsored Presentation
who ran into this problem. This helped him solve his video problem in Firefox.
It also works in Chrome and Opera. This fix is also being passed on to those who use Revolution Golf to help their golf game.
The following adjustments to the avast! Online Security module will make the video play in your browser.

Your screen for this avast! module may look different from mine since I’m already doing
Beta testing on the next program update of the free version of avast!.

Did not work for me - any other suggestion, please?

@tompic,
Welcome to the forum.

I suggest that you start your own Topic and explain exactly what your problem actually is.
Also give us as much information as you can about your system and the security programs you currently have installed.
