Since upgrading to avast 7 outlook 2003 duplicates my sent emails into outbox

Since upgrading to avast 7 outlook 2003 duplicates my sent emails into outbox. I am able to send emails but for some reason all emails written are being added to my outbox. Some are just empty emails!
Please help.

I second this. The problem applies to any POP3/SMTP account (SSL or not). Have not tested IMAP. Duplicate email copy in outbox has send address and attachment (if any) but not subject or content. It will not send and has to be manually deleted. Sometimes another duplicate has all blanks except send address. Other (related?) issues are duplicate incoming virus clean messages (one with 12 hour clock and one with 24 hour clock timings).

If AIS mail shield turned off all these problems are cured. No issues before latest update.

Running Windows XP SP3 with all updates. Avast 7 free. Outlook 2003 with all updates.

This is caused by the “Insert note into incoming clean message” switch it off. no more duplicates.

I’ve noticed this in my Outlook 2003 also, however (for me) the original does get sent and a “so called” duplicate does get saved in Outbox. I simply delete it, so I have not followed up on the issue.
Have not tested it with R2 beta v.1412 yet.

Edit: Just sent email and the “duplicate” (actually not a duplicate as everything is Blank) was save to outbox and I simply deleted it. The email was sent however.
Have not tried unchecking anything yet.

Sorry, I should have made it clearer. Yes the original email does get sent, so not a major issue. Just an annoyance having to delete the one (or two) duplicates.

I can confirm this also.

I am having the same issue with clients of mine running an in-house Exchange 2007 server connecting to Outlook 2007 at the desktop.
