Avast picked up “SIntfNT.dll” as a virus when I tried to load up Empire Earth.
This was in my temp folder.
I’ve looked around and people have said that this isn’t malware/virus and other AV’s have been picking it up as a virus aswell.

Anyone?
did you try submitting it to virustotal.com so we can see which programs detect it and which don’t?
post a screen grab of the results if you can

This file is created every time Empire Earth is launched, my friend who uses Avast is also getting this picked up as a virus.
I’ve been playing the game for ages, only today has Avast started to pick it up as a virus.
seeing as it is being detected by only 3 and they are either heuristics scans or general definitions I suspect its a false positive, plus it has only detected it today and you cant see any visible effects that are harmful. I would do a scan with some other program such as superantispyware to double check the file and perhaps submit the file to Avast with a note of what its detected as and that you suspect it is a false positive because it appears to be a game file you believe to be genuine, they should respond via this thread or you should see it stop being detected after they investigate and update their definitions. If it still gets detected after a while of bringing it to their attention then post back here and someone from Alwil team or an experienced forum member will help you further, either way keep checking this forum thread for more info and perhaps re check the file after defintions get updated over the next few days
Will do, Thanks for your help
will be fixed in VPS 080714-0
