Site hijacked by nuseek...

Hi forum members,

When I go to this link: http://www.avastbbs.com/
This page is hijacked by nuseek (I viewed the source), is this because of my ISP’s wrong DNS settings.
What can I do?

I don’t know if this is a hijacking or not, even a google search for it and WOT doesn’t have a whinge, nor does McAfee SiteAdvisor.

Is this somewhere you have visited before ?

Perhaps it is just capitalising on avast being a search string to direct traffic. I know I wouldn’t be interested if someone had deceived me into a visit and buy HGH. It seems like domain squatting or whatever it might be called in the hope that someone wants to buy the name, image 2.

There is a reference to Form Parking, which would seem to indicate something like that.

Whois: on the IP returns this name.
IP Location: United States United States Bethesda Enom Incorporated

Hi DavidR,

This site does everything possible everything (legal and illegal) to acquire Domain Names for resale.
Google “broken resolvers” and any other keywords to get a bigger picture.
There’s no telling the extent of the problem. And it’s an issue that will never
get much publicity because of security concerns, but it makes sense that
websites could get hijacked in this kind of environment.
It has been done with thousands of sites.
This is what it should look like: http://baike.baidu.com/view/286272.htm
It was somehow done through akamai.

What if we cannot put any trust into our search results anymore, because someone bought them up or paid to bar their identity. Big scam, and proof DNS servers are being corrupted big time,
read about possible fraudulent actions of nuseek here: http://www.aboutus.org/NuSeek.com

Also intersting thread to read here: http://www.webmasterworld.com/webmaster/3573859.htm
And not a lot of our users are educated that this is going on.

i thing I never trusted search results in the first place, but this one is obvious, the blurb on the search hit mentions HGH so it is obviously nothing to do with what a person might have been searching for, namely avast and or bbs.

Just another reason to use OpenDNS.
