I update my Avast Free to 7 and noticed the size was 279 Mb in Add and Remove Programs. I uninstalled and reinstalled it. The download was 93 MB, after I installed it’s now 383 Mb. Where does Streamlined and Light come in. Then when I hover over the Avast icon in the taskbar it states “Attention my computer is not fully protected”. On the Avast site in My Avast Account in Devices it states “Security Status: Attention!” I have a firewall and several anti-spyware and malware programs and everything seems to be working fine. Could it be that they are trying to tell me that I need to upgrade to their paid version of Avast?
Add remove programs isn’t very accurate at all, mine shows 309MB and that it has been used ‘Rarely’ now that is a joke given it is in use al the time the computer is on.
The installation file is highly compressed to make it easier on download. When unpacked during installation it will be much larger. I have no idea what you mean by “Where does Streamlined and Light come in.” e.g. where are you seeing that ?
What does the avastUI > Summary (when you click on the avast tray icon) say for which element isn’t secure/fully protected ?
You don’t have to upgrade to the paid version/s I have been using avast free for almost nine years.
That is referring to the affect it has on system responsiveness and resources
