When I do a scan of my computer I get the log and it tells me that so many files have been skipped because of scanner settings. ??? What am I doing wrong that I get this every single time I run this program.
Can you post the report file with the path of the excluded files?
I thought it was the exclusion list but you said no… (by IM).
I can’t figure out what is happening if you do not inform more… :
Fungranny welcome to the forum.
I’m a great grandpa but, like Technical said, with out further info, we can’t help.
This is quite normal. Unless you’re doing the scan with the sensitivity set to Thorough there’ll be files that the scanner bypasses (because it concludes that it’s not necessary to scan them).
You can remove those entries from the log by unchecking the Soft Errors box on the Reports config page…
Okay when I put it on through scann I don’t get that message, it’s when I do standard so I guess I just wont use standard anymore I am a great grandmother twice ;D
Well, the fact that the scanner skipped some files doesn’t mean it’s a dangerous operation.
Some files are simply too short to contain a virus… some files doesn’t seem to be ordinary executables, so they are rather unlikely to contain a virus…
So, you don’t have to be worried that much about the Standard scan
Thanks I really appreciate the help…this is a great place for answers. I have moved some of my friends to this rather then AVG…I just like it better and it seems to work well too. Of course I have never had a virus but I think it’s because it works
AND … as an added plus, Fungranny, you get a great group of people as wonderful friends! ;D
