SkyDemon blocked by Avast

Until I downloaded Avast 2014, a program on my pc called SkyDemon ran OK. Now, it will not start or will run for 10 seconds before closing unless I disable Avast.

Any error message or toaster pop-up from avast! when you try to run it?

No, not a thing. But switching off the files system shield, web shield and mail shield is the only thing that allows SkyDemon to work.
Thanks for responding.

What version of avast!? Free, Pro, AIS, Premier?

You may need to add the executable to exclusions for it to work with shields activated and/or tick “Scan traffic from well-known browser processes only” in WebShield. Try the latter first and report back.

The 10 second run sounds like it might be running in Deep Screen mode.
You could initially try disabling Deep Screen Mode. (Settings->Antivirus->Deep Screen - untick the box)
If that works, you could perhaps exclude it from Deep Screen (Settings->Antivirus->Exclusions->Deep Screen Tab)

The behavior of the SkyDemon program has changed with it’s latest update so that it no longer even starts.
I have tried all the suggested actions without success.

I’d submit a support request ticket to avast! here: https://support.avast.com/Tickets/Submit

Use the technical request box to report your issues there, as this is related to avast operation.
