SlimWare Utilities

Hello everyone! Well just as I said I haven’t been in here a while for any problems, I get myself in trouble. I totally jinxed myself.
So, I’ve been using SlimCleaner for a while and pretty happy with it along with CCleaner.
So I installed SlimComputer and SlimDrivers. Seemed like a good idea. SlimComputer didn’t help much because my machine is already lite and clean. But I did want to see if I can update my drivers and I was surprised the SlimDrivers found 7. So I was pretty happy about that.
Now I know doing anything with drivers is risky but a lot of them were 3 years old or more compared to the updates available.
Unfortuantely it didn’t go so well off the bat. I think only one installed successfully and the others failed.

I should add too that before each driver install I saved a restore point.

While in the setup wizard to install the drivers one at a time, COMODO was sandboxing all of them, until the last one. I changed the settings so COMODO trusts the SlimDrivers actions. One update, the last one, which was to update the USB 2.0 driver, COMODO stopped the install. It said it found a malicious file and kept offering to clean but said the deleting of some of the malicious files failed and could not clean it. I was like “Uh Oh.”
There is noting I can do but click on “Ignore Once” but once in a while COMODO pops up, reminding me it’s still there. So now I’m here.
Any suggestions?

[added note] Oh yeah. Sorry, forgot to mention, I did do a full scan with SAS and MalwareBytes and both found nothing. Avast in real time the whole time is also shrugging it’s shoulders.

hey are you running both comodo internet security and avast at the same time?

you should not run to antivirus program at the same time because they will conflict and slow down your system so you have to remove one.

Oh no, It’s okay. It’s the COMODO firewall only and not the security package. I have exceptions for both so they don’t butt heads. I’ve had it like that for a couple years now and they work beautifully together. I think it was the COMODO firewall that was doing all the blocking.

is there a question here…related to avast ???

Oh here is a link to a video from a guy that helped me set that up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbdxNJI54aY&list=FL3Rc44JDBeYrLpeY8mwBpiQ&feature=mh_lolz

Well yeah, it does kinda lean toward one side. But I do remember one tool made by a user here that can remove infections that other scanners or AV programs can’t get rid of. I was wondering if this might be one of those situations.

if infection is Your problem, see guide http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0

Yeah, that’s the one! I guess that’s the only thing I can do now. Cause other wise the file will just sit there. I’ have restarted the computer a few times just to see it will do anything else weird, luckily it hasn’t. I’ll use OTL tool and hopefully it will be gone. Thanks Pondus. I was gonna ask some more about that driver updating issues but I guess I can ask that in the general discussion section.

Personally i never update all or any of the drivers unless there is a hardware issue which device manager displays.
Different driver updating software find different updates.

If it aint broke then dont fix it. ;D
